Noida News: A 37-year-old woman in Greater Noida jumped to death from a 13th-floor flat along with her 11-year-old son on Saturday, reportedly due to his mental illness. Sakshi Chawla, the deceased, was worried over her son's health, as he had been receiving treatment for mental health issues for more than a decade, yet showing no signs of improvement. In a letter to her husband, Darpan Chawla, the deceased apologised by stating that he did not need to suffer because of them, reported NDTV. While providing details, the officials stated that the incident has shaken the neighbours, adding that a detailed investigation has been launched into the matter.

Darpan Chawla, a chartered accountant by profession, stated that he was present in another room when the incident occurred. Chawla further stated that he ran towards the balcony after hearing a loud scream, only to witness the bodies on the ground. The police arrived at the site after receiving a complaint and sent the dead bodies to autopsy after gathering basic information regarding the incident. The police also recovered a note in which the deceased had alleged that no one was responsible for their death.
