Nagpur News: In an outrageous and shocking development, a bridge in Nagpur passed through a home, with a portion of it blocking the balcony. As the images of the bridge passing from a home, cutting the balcony grill, went viral, netizens were left stunned and speechless.
The Rs 998 crore Indori-Dighori flyover was built, slicing through the balcony of someone’s home, closing the entire view from there.
While some people on the internet saw the structure as ‘faulty planning,’ the authorities explained that the home was built illegally without a building plan sanctioned by the Nagpur Municipal Corporation.
According to reports, the house in question is situated at the corner of the road leading to Sakkardara, has an extended balcony, and is built illegally.
An X user with the handle name, @MummbaiCommunit2, posted the image of the flyover and wrote that there’s some crazy stuff going on in Nagpur. “This is some crazy stuff going on in Nagpur. flyover inside my balcony”, his caption read.

While people have been wondering how authorities can build a ‘bizarre structure’ like that, a senior National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) official told TOI that they encountered the "encroachment" during the construction stage and raised the issue with NMC.
"We found that the owner of the house has extended the balcony and wrote to NMC for removing the encroachment," the official said. The official further added that the contractor and house owner later agreed to build the rotary through the balcony.

The post sparked strong reactions, with an urban and transport planner commenting, "This is so damn stupid. I have no words." In contrast, another user defended the construction, emphasising that the homeowner should receive proper relocation and reimbursement.
