What Is The Case

The case has been pending for 12 years, and the court's decision brings closure to Sahni and her family. The compensation awarded to Sahni aims to provide some relief after the long and arduous legal battle.

Delayed Justice Continues

It is said that justice delayed is justice denied, but overburdened Indian courts have become habitual of disposing of cases after years. In another example of delayed hearing and disposal of a case, a Ghaziabad court on Friday sentenced a man to seven years in prison for driving his wife to suicide over dowry demands in a 2020 case. The court also imposed a fine of Rs 7,000 on the convicted husband, Kishan.
