Bengaluru News: Bangalore Electricity Supply Company (Bescom) has announced that its online services will be temporarily unavailable for three days, beginning October 4. From 9 pm on October 4 until 6 am on October 7, consumer portals and store transactions will not be accessible. Additionally, online bill payments will be disabled from 9 pm on October 4 until 11 am on October 5.
According to a Deccan Herald report, this scheduled downtime is part of an upgrade to the RAPDRP (Restructured Accelerated Power Development and Reforms Programme) IT applications, which is a key component of the IPDS IT Phase-2 project. The initiative aims to enhance IT infrastructure and improve service delivery across Bescom's operational areas.

In separate news, Namma Metro’s Green Line operations in Bengaluru will be partially disrupted on Thursday, October 3, between 10 AM and 2 PM, as announced by the Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL). The disruption is due to a statutory safety inspection of a newly constructed extension between Nagasandra and Madavara stations, to be conducted by the Commissioner of Metro Railway Safety (Southern Circle) before its opening.
During this time, trains on the Green Line will only operate between Peenya Industry and Silk Institute stations. The last train from Silk Institute to Nagasandra will depart at 9 AM, after which services between Nagasandra and Peenya Industry will be suspended until 2 PM.

The Green Line spans approximately 30.5 kilometres from Nagasandra to Silk Institute and has 29 stations, including major stops like Yeshwanthpur, Majestic, and Jayanagar. Operations on the Purple Line will remain unaffected by this temporary disruption.
