Bengaluru Cab Rage: After a city-based influencer was hit by a cab driver and a northeastern passenger suffered a racial slur, a businessman was assaulted by a cab driver in Bengaluru. In yet another confrontation between a cab driver and passengers in Bengaluru city, a 39-year-old businessman was assaulted for questioning the sudden route change.
A routine cab ride in Bengaluru, like the previous two, turned violent, and the driver assaulted the passenger after he asked why the driver had taken a sudden route change.
According to a report by The Times of India, a 36-year-old driver changed the route to avoid a toll booth, and when the passenger confronted him for the same, the driver allegedly slapped him.

What Happened And Why Businessman Was Hit
A 39-year-old businessman from Mysuru Road landed at the Kempegowda International Airport (KIA) from Delhi on October 9. He had arrived early from the schedule. As part of his pre-booking, he contacted the driver assigned to him.
The driver picked up the businessman in the afternoon, and instead of taking the usual route with the toll booth, he took another route, through Shettigere Road, to avoid paying the toll.
The businessman questioned the move as he had already paid the toll amount as part of the payment. "I immediately asked the driver why he took me on a different route instead of the toll road, as I had already paid the money online. The driver started shouting at me," the businessman was quoted as saying by the TOI.
The businessman reportedly got panicked and asked the driver to stop and exited the cab. He was allegedly slapped by the driver when he started taking a picture of the cab and the driver to report the incident.
The businessman alleged that despite the incident being witnessed by bystanders, none of them stepped in to assist him. Meanwhile, Bharath had called the police emergency helpline, but by the time the authorities arrived, he had already escaped.
Police Arrest Driver
The driver argued that the passenger had shouted at him when he tried to escape the toll. Police said, whatever the reason, assaulting somebody is wrong and had arrested the driver the very same evening, who was later granted bail.
