Bengaluru To Chennai Travel: The Bengaluru–Chennai Expressway is a game-changer project that will boost connectivity and drastically reduce travel time between the two cities, Bengaluru and Chennai. At present, it takes around five to six hours to reach from one city to another. However, once the Bengaluru-Chennai Expressway is ready the travel time will be reduced to 2.15 hours.

Currently, commuters are dependent on three routes: the Hosur–Krishnagiri stretch via the Golden Quadrilateral, the Old Madras Road, and a third route that passes through Kolar, KGF, V Kota, and Vellore. The Golden Quadrilateral is the most used among the three, which is approximately 380 km between the two cities.

Will Chennai-Bengaluru Expressway Be Extended Further?

Once the Bengaluru–Chennai Expressway becomes operational, it is set to be extended further to Mangaluru. A new expressway will be constructed between Bengaluru and Mangaluru, which will be seamlessly connected to the Bengaluru–Chennai Expressway. The project has been proposed by the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH) and will be executed by the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI), as per a Magic Bricks report.
