Bengaluru News: A Class 12 student of Clarence High School in Bengaluru died after allegedly jumping from the second floor of the Carey Block on Monday morning, police said. The incident took place during assembly hours at the school located on Pottery Road in Richards Town.

The student, identified as Aaryan Moses Vyas, was a resident of HBR Layout. He was immediately rushed to Santosh Hospital and later shifted to Manipal Hospital for further treatment, where he succumbed to his injuries.

Police said Aaryan’s father, Moses, who works in the revenue department, filed a complaint stating that his son had been upset over homework-related issues. Pulikeshinagar Police have registered a case of unnatural death and are investigating the incident.

In a statement, the school management described Aaryan as an outstanding student and sportsperson who had represented the institution at both national and international levels. “His enthusiasm, discipline, and cheerful nature touched everyone around him,” the school said, as reported by Times Of India report.

The management added that counsellors would be available on campus to support students and staff. Parents have been encouraged to seek help if their children need emotional support in coping with the tragedy.

In separate news, a 28-year-old woman, identified as Shikha Devi from Uttar Pradesh’s Fatehpur district, allegedly died by suicide in Bengaluru’s Kengeri area on Sunday evening. Police said she jumped from her building’s terrace after an argument with her husband, Sandeep Kumar, reportedly over not recharging her mobile phone. The couple had been married for six years and were living with their two-year-old son in a rented apartment. The incident occurred around 5:15 pm, and Shikha was rushed to hospital but declared dead on arrival. Her father told police he suspected no foul play. An Unnatural Death Report has been filed.
