Vande Bharat Trial Run: The railways on Wednesday conducted a trial run of Vande Bharat Express between Bengaluru Cantonment station in Karnataka and Tamil Nadu's Coimbatore Junction, South Western Railway said. According to railway authorities, the trial run consisted of back-and-forth journeys between the two stations.

The train left Coimbatore at 5 am and reached Bengaluru Cantonment at 10:38 am. The upcoming Vande Bharat Express between Bengaluru and Coimbatore is scheduled to be flagged off on December 30. Another Vande Bharat Express between Mangaluru in coastal Karnataka and Madgaon in Goa will also be inaugurated on the same day, railway officials informed.

Time Table And Fare Structure

The time table and fare structure for regular services of the Bengaluru-Coimbatore and Mengaluru-Madgaon Vande Bharat trains are under review and will be notified after their flagging off, South Western Railways informed.

"After flagging of the two Vande Bharat trains, the details of their regular services will be announced. This way, Karnataka will get five Vande Bharat trains," a top railway official was quoted as saying by news agency PTI.

The commencement of the said services will take the total number of Vande Bharat trains serving stations in Karnataka to five.

Other Vande Bharats To Be Flagged Off

A second Vande Bharat Express between Delhi and Katra is also scheduled to be flagged off on December 30. The new Delhi-Katra Vande Bharat train will have stops at Udhampur and Kathua railway stations, Union Minister Jitendra Singh informed on Sunday.

"Heartening news for Udhampur and Kathua. Ever since the first Vande Bharat train started operating from Katra and Delhi in 2019, there has been a consistent demand for its stoppage in Kathua and Udhampur as well. Thanks, PM Narendra Modi, for responding to our request," the Union Minister said in a post on social media platform X (formerly Twitter).
