Bengaluru: College Student Killed By Boyfriend Over Argument; Accused Shaves Head To Hide Identity

Bengaluru News:In a tragic incident, a Bengaluru college student was found dead at her rented home on the outskirts of Bengaluru. The 21-year-old was allegedly strangled by her boyfriend during a heated argument on November 23, leading to her tragic death. The reports suggest that Devisri, the deceased, was staying with a friend to pursue her further education and was in a relationship with Premavardhan, the accused. The 31-year-old from Andhra Pradesh reportedly visited her on a regular basis; however, an argument broke out after he expressed frustration over the victim's friendship with other males.

The police officials stated that the couple was arguing on multiple issues in the past few weeks, and the situation escalated on November 23, reported the Hindustan Times. A heavy argument broke out between them when the accused confronted her, leading to a possible physical fight. Premavardhan allegedly strangled the victim, locked her inside the room, and ran away.

While the incident went unnoticed for several hours, the victim's parents reached out to her friends for the updates. However, her friend found Devisri unresponsive and alerted the local police, leading to the probe. A special police team later traced the accused from Andhra's Tirupati, where he had shaved his head to hide his identity. He was arrested by the Madanayakanahalli police and brought back to Bengaluru for further investigation.

In a separate incident, a 33-year-old chartered accountant was found dead and unclothed in a hotel room in Kolkata’s Kasba area last Saturday (November 22). The accused, identified as live-in partners Komal Saha and Dhruba Mitra, were arrested for allegedly plotting to extort money from the victim, Adarsh Losalka, after befriending him on a dating app and offering sexual services. He was reportedly killed after refusing to pay the Rs 20,000 demanded by the woman.
