Bengaluru News: A college student in Bengaluru has accused the owner of her paying guest accommodation of raping her. The accused, identified as Ashraf, has been taken into custody following the student’s complaint filed at a local police station, which led to the registration of a First Information Report (FIR).

According to a NDTV report, the incident occurred just ten days after the student moved into Ashraf's property. According to her statement, on the night of August 2, Ashraf approached her in her room and made a disturbing request. He allegedly told her that he would provide her with food and accommodation, only if she "cooperated" with him. When she rejected his demands, Ashraf is said to have forcibly taken her to a car and driven her to another location where he assaulted her.

In her complaint, the student recounted the harrowing experience: “At around 12:41 AM, while I was at the paying guest accommodation, Ashraf came to me and insisted I cooperate with him for food and shelter. When I refused, he grabbed my hand, dragged me, and forced me into a car, taking me to a room where he sexually assaulted me.”

The victim tried to inform a friend by sending her location but was unable to do so. She stated that Ashraf eventually returned her to the paying guest accommodation between approximately 1:30 AM and 2:15 AM.

This incident echoes a similar case from June, where a 21-year-old nursing graduate reported being raped by the owner of her PG facility. In that case, the accused, a 40-year-old man named Ravi Teja Reddy, allegedly assaulted the victim while questioning her about a gold theft. The girl resisted his advances but was met with violence, leading her to file a complaint that resulted in Reddy's arrest.
