Bengaluru Viral News: Bengaluru Police took swift action against a couple after a video surfaced on social media showing them standing through the sunroof of a moving SUV on Trinity Road. Authorities traced the vehicle and fined the car owner Rs 1,500 for violating traffic rules.

The incident reportedly occurred on Sunday night, but police tracked down the car on Tuesday after the video went viral. A senior police officer confirmed that the footage was shared on social media, prompting public outrage. The police identified the SUV using its registration number and summoned the owner for questioning.

In the widely circulated video, a man and a woman were seen standing through the sunroof while the car was in motion. The video, posted by a user on X (formerly Twitter), accused the couple of kissing in public. However, police stated that there was no clear evidence in the video to confirm the claim of kissing.

The footage, recorded by another motorist trailing the SUV, sparked criticism from netizens who called the act both unsafe and indecent. Many users, including the one who posted the video, tagged the Bengaluru City Police and demanded action. The vehicle’s registration details were also made public in the post.

Police fined the car owner Rs 1,000 for dangerous driving and Rs 500 for general violations. The authorities stated that such behaviour not only breaks traffic laws but also poses a serious threat to the safety of other road users.

The India Today report cited police sources as stating that, the SUV was driven by a woman who had gone out with her colleagues for dinner in Koramangala. After dinner, they went for a drive during which the incident took place.

The page 'Karnataka Portfolio' criticised the behaviour, calling it a poor example for the public and a potential cause of accidents. It warned that standing through the sunroof of a moving vehicle could lead to fatal consequences with even a slight misjudgement on the road.

Police have urged citizens to follow traffic rules and maintain public decency while using public roads.
