Bengaluru Liquor Ban: In a bid to maintain law and order in the city, the Police Commissioner of Bengaluru, Seemanth Kumar Singh, has ordered that the sale of liquor will be banned across several areas of the city. The order will be in force from 6 am on Friday, September 5, to 6 am on Saturday, September 6.
“To ensure the procession is conducted peacefully, deputy commissioners of police from the east and north divisions requested a liquor ban within their jurisdictions. Having examined the matter and based on intelligence inputs, I am convinced that prohibiting the sale of liquor is necessary to prevent untoward incidents,” Singh said in his order.
As per the order, all bars, pubs, wine shops and restaurants selling liquor will remain shut in the following areas: East Division- Hennur, R.M. Nagar, Govindapura, K.G. Halli, D.J. Halli, Pulakeshinagar, Bharathinagar, Commercial Street, Shivajinagar.
Meanwhile, in the North Division, the ban will be observed in J.C. Nagar and R.T. Nagar.
Eid-E-Milad Procession In Bengaluru
A procession on the occasion of Eid-e-Milad will take place from the limits of Kothanur and Sampigehalli police stations in the northeast division of Bengaluru on September 5. Eid-e-Milad-Un-Nabi is observed to commemorate the birth anniversary of Prophet Mohammad.

The procession route will traverse through Thanisandra Main Road, Nagawara Main Road, Arabic College Main Road, Shyampur Main Road, Tannery Road, Haines Road, HKP Road, Thammayya Road, Jayamahal Road, and Nandidurga Road in the east division. As per the estimates provided by the local police, nearly 30,000-50,000 people will take part in these processions.
