Bengaluru News: A home guard in Bengaluru has confessed to murdering his wife, daughter and niece following a heated argument at their home in Nethaji Nagar. Gangaraju, 42, who is stationed at the Hebbagodi police station, surrendered to Peenya police about an hour after the gruesome incident on January 8, still wielding the machete believed to have been used in the crime.

The victims have been identified as Gangaraju's 36-year-old wife Bhagyamma, his 19-year-old daughter Navya and 23-year-old Hemavathi, who is Navya's cousin. The family had been living in a rented house in Nethaji Nagar for the past six years.

According to a Times Of India report, the altercation began when Gangaraju confronted his wife, suspecting her of infidelity. In a fit of rage, he struck her on the head with the machete. Navya and Hemavathi, who had come from Nelamangala for a religious ritual, attempted to intervene and were also attacked.

A police officer revealed that Gangaraju arrived at the police station around 5 PM, shortly after the murders. He claimed that both his wife and daughter were ignoring him, which escalated tensions at home. Just three days prior, a complaint had been filed at the Peenya station regarding frequent arguments in the household.

Upon arriving at Gangaraju's residence in Chokkasandra, Jalahalli, police discovered the bodies of the three women, all bearing severe injuries and slit throats. Bhagyamma was a homemaker, while Navya was a first-year college student. Hemavathi, a divorcee, had been living with the family and working at a private firm.

Gangaraju later told police that the conflicts had become unbearable. "Whenever I questioned my wife about her affair, the two girls would side with her. I couldn't take it anymore," he stated in his confession.

The bodies have been sent to Victoria Hospital for post-mortem examinations, scheduled for January 9. Additional Commissioner of Police Vikash Kumar confirmed that the murders were motivated by family disputes and personal grievances.
