Bengaluru News: The Karnataka police on Monday stated that a case was lodged against Infosys co-founder Senapathy Kris Gopalakrishnan, along with former Indian Institute of Science (IISc) Director Balaram and 16 others, under the Prevention of SC/ST Atrocities Act. The police further stated that the case was lodged based on the directions of the 71st city civil and session court (CCH).
The police registered the case at the Sadashiva Nagar police station on the basis of complaint of a man who alleged that the Indian Institute of Science (IISc) authorities wrongly dismissed him from the services, reported PTI. He further stated that he was falsely framed in a honey trap case and was dismissed from the institute where Kris Gopalakrishnan is a member of the Board of Trustees.

Durgappa, the complainant, belongs to the tribal community, and he accused the institute authorities of using derogatory remarks against him. Durgappa stated that he was a faculty member at the Centre for Sustainable Technology at the institute. He claimed that he was falsely framed in a honey trap case in 2014 and was dismissed from the services based on the proceedings of the case.
He also alleged that the authorities had plotted a conspiracy against him to remove him from the post of faculties. Besides, he also alleged that the authorities used casteist abuse and further threatened him, the report suggested.

Apart from Gopalakrishnan, the case is lodged against several individuals, including Govindan Rangarajan, Sridhar Warrier, Sandya Vishwswaraih, Hari KVS, Dasappa, Balaram P, Hemalata Mhishi, Chattopadyaya K, Pradeep D Sawkar, and Manoharan. They all are accused of threatening the complainant and harassing him while he was at the services.
Gopalakrishnan is one of the co-founders of Infosys and served as the vice chairman of the tech giant from 2011 to 2014. He was also chief executive officer and managing director of the firm from 2007 to 2011. The IISc faculty or Kris Gopalakrishnan have not reacted to the allegations yet.
