Five people were detained in a startling incident in Bengaluru, Karnataka, on the charge of "attempt to murder" after they allegedly assaulted a man who works as an auditor for a private company. Two of the five accused were the victim's coworkers, who, according to the police, hired goons to beat him up because of a "difference of opinion." Following the assault, a video went viral on social media, prompting police action. Captured on a car's dash cam, the video shows several men thrashing the victim mercilessly with an iron road in broad daylight on a busy ring road near Kalyan Nagar.

User Waseem posted the video on X and called on the Bengaluru police to investigate the situation immediately. Sharing the clip, he wrote, “SHOCKING! Subsequently, the police located the victim, recorded a complaint, and detained the suspect.

According to an India Today report, the victim was identified as Suresh, an auditor at a milk product company in Bengaluru.

Suresh's coworkers Umashankar and Vinesh are two of the five accused.

“The five suspects have been arrested by police from east Bengaluru. The victim and two of the accused seemed to have been working in the same firm, and the assault was due to a difference of opinion,” Bengaluru police said in a statement.

Umashankar and Vinesh allegedly told the police that Suresh used to put a lot of pressure on them, during questioning.

According to the India Today report, Suresh, who has been with the company for a year, is accused of harassing staff members and pressuring them to promptly clear their stock balance. Suresh reportedly complained to the company's senior management about Umashankar and Vinesh's relaxed attitude and delay in clearing the balance, and the two were punished severely.
