Delhi Child Trafficking: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) conducted raids at multiple locations across Delhi in relation to child trafficking. During the raids, two newborns were rescued from a house at Keshavpuram, throwing light on the dark world of infant trade. Newborns were being bought and sold on the black market as commodities, reported NDTV citing CBI sources.
All parties concerned, including the woman who sold the children and the buyers themselves, are presently being questioned by the CBI.
The CBI has arrested people who are involved in the trafficking of seven to eight children throughout the National Capital Region (NCR), demonstrating the reach of this operation well beyond Delhi's boundaries.
A hospital ward boy and several other women are among those detained. Roughly ten children have been sold in the last month alone, according to CBI sources.
The CBI investigation has now spread to multiple states, with several major hospitals facing intense scrutiny. According to NDTV report citing sources, newborns were sold for exorbitant prices ranging from Rs 4 to 5 lakh.
The CBI stated that further investigation into the matter is underway.
