A man was arrested by Bengaluru Police from Bagalgunte for allegedly cheating, sexually exploiting a woman, stealing about 200 grams of gold, and duping her of Rs 20 lakh, all under the guise of a romantic live-in relationship despite being married.
The shocking case started in Nelamangala, according to an NDTV report, and involved two sisters. The accused, identified as Shubham Shukla, first befriended a minor girl and assaulted her. He used the girl to gain access to her family, after which he befriended her elder sister and lured her into a relationship.
To keep it covered, Shukla asked the victim to move with him. As part of the plan, he convinced the woman to lie to her parents that she was moving to Mumbai for work.
The couple continued to live in Bengaluru for three years instead. During this period, the accused siphoned off Rs 20 lakh and valuable items, including gold.
