Bengaluru: The Electronics City Industrial Township Authority (ELCITA) has launched a free feeder bus service for the IT professionals, connecting the nearest metro stations to the offices in the Electronic City. The authority stated that the feeder bus service will provide relief to the thousands of commuters by cutting the travel time. It further stated that the decision was taken after operation on the Yellow Line metro began recently. The Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL) also stated that the operation of the Yellow Line will provide relief to the IT professionals by cutting the travel time and reducing traffic congestion, as the metro route connects the Electronic City to some of the key areas of the city.

Bengaluru: Feeder bus service to provide relief

- The bus service will provide services between Electronics City Metro Station (EC1) and Infosys/Konappana Agrahara Metro Station (EC2) and prominent offices of Electronic City.

- The authority stated that the bus services will be available from Monday to Friday, adding that the buses will operate for 12 hours between 8 am and 8 pm.

- It further stated that the buses will be available to the key office hubs within the Electronic City.

- The ELCITA further informed that the commuters will be able to track the live location of buses via the ELCITA Citizens App.

- “Let’s make sustainable, stress-free commuting the new normal,” ELCITA stated in its announcement.

The Yellow Line is likely to provide a significant boost to the regional connectivity, as the ridership of Namma Metro significantly improved in the past few days, informed BMRCL. The authority stated that almost 50,000 commuters travelled on the yellow line for the first few days, adding that the frequency of trains will be increased in the upcoming months.
