Bengaluru Metro Timings Update: The Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL) announced extended metro operations on Women Premier League (WPL) 2025 match days at Chinnaswamy Stadium to ease travel for cricket fans. The timings for the last metro service on both lines of Nama Metro have been extended on February 21, 22, 24, 25, 26, 27, 28, and March 1, as on these days WPL matches will take place in Bengaluru.

Bengaluru Metro Extended Timings

To accommodate the expected rise in ridership, metro trains on the Purple and Green Lines will run beyond regular hours. The last trains from the terminal stations, Challaghatta, Whitefield, Madavara and Silk Institute, will depart at 11:20 PM. Meanwhile, the final train from Nadaprabhu Kempegowda Station, Majestic, will leave at 11:55 PM towards all directions.

Passengers can avail QR tickets, Smart Cards, National Common Mobility Cards (NCMC) and tokens for seamless access to the metro during the extended services.

BMRCL has previously extended metro timings for IPL and other major cricket events, helping reduce traffic congestion around stadiums. The recent decision has been announced anticipating massive crowds for the WPL matches.

Meanwhile, despite this initiative, BMRCL has been facing financial challenges due to a decline in ridership following a recent metro fare hike. Interestingly, while a WPL match ticket costs Rs 100, a round-trip metro ticket from terminal stations costs Rs 180, raising concerns about affordability for fans.
