Bengaluru Metro will make a minor adjustment to its usual schedule this Sunday, December 8, to help candidates attending the Karnataka Public Service Commission (KPSC) examination for Panchayat Development Officers (PDO).

Normally, Bengaluru Metro starts its services at 7:00 am on Sundays. However, to accommodate the exam candidates, the metro will begin at 5:30 am instead, as announced by Bengaluru Metro Rail Corporation Ltd (BMRCL) on Thursday.

According to an official statement from BMRCL, “To facilitate candidates attending the KPSC PDO examination on December 8, 2024 (Sunday), the BMRCL will commence train services from 5:30 am instead of the usual 7:00 am from all its four terminals: Madavara, Silk Institute, Challaghatta, and Whitefield (Kadugodi) Metro stations.”


Additionally, the first train from Nadaprabhu Kempegowda Station (Majestic) towards all directions will depart at 5:30 am. Between 5:30 am and 7:00 am, metro trains will run every 30 minutes, the statement further clarified.

On regular weekdays, Bengaluru Metro services operates between 5:00 am to 11:00 pm with trains running every 3 to 5 minutes during peak hours. On holidays and second and fourth Saturdays, trains usually run at 10-15 minute intervals from 5:00 am to 7:00 am, with a frequency of 8 minutes after that until about 9:00 pm.

Additionally, during major events in Bengaluru, such as cricket matches or New Year’s Eve celebrations, BMRCL often extends its operational hours.

This early start on December 8 ensures that those taking the KPSC exam can travel comfortably without any delay.
