Bengaluru Namma Metro Update: The Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL) officials reportedly clarified that the operation on the entire Pink Line will not commence in May 2026. The authority stated that the corridor would open in two phases, adding that the operation on the second phase will begin in December 2026. The clarification from the metro authority came after Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar claimed that the operation on the entire much-awaited corridor will begin in May 2026, leading to questions from the opposition leaders and the commuters. The metro route will provide convenience to thousands of commuters by connecting two of the key regions Kalena Agrahara and Nagawara.

While providing details, the senior BMRCL officials stated that the operation on the Pink Line will begin in two phases. While the operation on 7.5-km elevated stretch from Kalena Agrahara to Tavarekere will open in May 2026, the 13.76-km underground section will start only by December next year. "The elevated section is almost ready, except for minor works that will be completed closer to the launch," the official was quoted as saying by the Deccan Herald.
