Bengaluru Namma Metro Update: The Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL) stated that the commuters of the Yellow Line are set to get major relief with the arrival of the eighth trainset. The authority stated that the trainset is likely to arrive in Bengaluru soon after January 15, adding that the frequency will drop significantly to 10 minutes. It further stated that the arrival of an extra trainset will provide convenience to thousands of commuters by reducing the waiting time, especially in the peak hours. The operation on the Yellow Line has improved the regional connectivity by linking the residential regions to the IT firms and other key regions of the tech city.
While providing details, the officials stated that the Kolkata-based Titagarh Rail Systems Ltd (TRSL) had dispatched the trainset on Thursday, adding that it is likely to arrive in Bengaluru soon after January 15. They further stated that the trail runs are likely to be conducted in the upcoming weeks and the operation is likely to begin by the second week of February. The authority asserted that the waiting time will further reduce by two minutes to 10 minutes, providing relief to thousands of passengers.

They further stated that the seventh trainset, which arrived on December 18, is soon likely to be added for the public services. The train is currently undergoing testing and is likely to be included in service in the upcoming week. Along with improving the frequency in the peak hours, the addition of these trainsets will also cut the waiting time during the day hours.
While the Yellow Line boosted the connectivity by linking the major regions of the city, the waiting time, especially during office hours, has been a major concern for the passengers. The authority has advised the commuters to stay updated and maximise the use of public transportation to avoid the rush.
