The latest footage quickly gained traction on social media, prompting widespread condemnation of the fraudulent act. Many users expressed outrage and called for stringent action against those involved. Concerns are growing about the rise of fake accidents in Bengaluru, as scammers attempt to extort money from unsuspecting drivers or file false insurance claims.
One social media user stated, "The scams are getting bloodier by the day. Without a dashcam, one is toast, especially when driving at night." Another suggested that an organised extortion ring might be behind these staged incidents.
Residents have also shared their experiences, with one recounting a similar situation near Kadugodi Tree Park Metro Station, where a man reportedly stopped vehicles while wielding a stick late at night. Citizens are urging law enforcement to take swift action to prevent innocent motorists from becoming victims of these scams.
In response to the viral video, Bengaluru City Police reached out on Twitter, requesting details about the victim to investigate further.
