Bengaluru Rains:  All schools and anganwadi centres will observe a public holiday on Wednesday, October 23, according to the Karnataka government's announcement, which also requests that private enterprises permit their staff to work from home. The warning came as the MeT issued a "yellow" warning for the nation's IT hub due to excessive rainfall.

At least five persons lost their lives in various rain-related incidents on Tuesday. Over the past three days, the city has had nonstop rain, causing extensive flooding in several residential areas.

The India Meteorological Department's (IMD) "yellow" warning denotes potentially bad weather conditions due to excessive rainfall. According to the government, the warning was issued for the safety of everyone who worked for BT, IT, and private businesses in the city.

The decision was made as a precaution and in the best interests of the students, according to Bengaluru Urban Deputy Commissioner Jagadish G.

All ITIs and colleges, however, would operate normally, he stated.

He added that in order to prevent accidents, colleges have been generally instructed not to offer lessons in deteriorated and unstable structures. He requested that parents and college administration make sure that students don't go to areas with water that are low to the ground.

According to the deputy commissioner, students should get information from the college administration on how to handle natural disasters.
