Bengaluru Rain: Bengaluru is witnessing the effects of heavy rainfall, with forecasts indicating that the wet weather will continue throughout the week. As a precaution, authorities declared schools and Anganwadi centres in the Bengaluru Urban district closed on Wednesday. However, there has been no official announcement regarding a holiday for schools on October 24.
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a 'Yellow alert' for the city, predicting a generally cloudy sky with occasional rain and thundershowers.
Bengaluru 7-Day Weather Forecast
In detail, the weather forecast for Bengaluru from October 24 to October 29 suggests continued cloudy conditions with light rain expected intermittently. On October 24, temperatures are anticipated to range from a minimum of 20 degrees Celsius to a maximum of 30 degrees Celsius. Similar weather is expected on October 25, with light rain and temperatures between 21 degrees Celsius and 30 degrees Celsius.
The pattern of light rain is set to continue on October 26, with temperatures ranging from 21 degrees Celsius to 29 degrees Celsius. This trend will persist on October 27, with temperatures expected to fall between 21 degrees Celsius and 28 degrees Celsius. Rain is forecasted for both October 28 and 29, with minimum temperatures around 21 degrees Celsius and maximums around 28 degrees Celsius. Overall, the week will see intermittent rain, contributing to the city's challenges with the ongoing wet conditions.
Government Forms Committe To Address Infra Issues
In response to the infrastructure challenges exacerbated by the rain, Minister of Electronics and IT/BT, Priyank Kharge, announced the creation of a consultative committee. This committee, headed by Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar, aims to address the city's pressing infrastructure issues.

Officials have indicated that the committee will include key stakeholders from the IT, Biotechnology and Startup Vision groups, working collaboratively to find solutions. Kharge stated, “The government wants to engage with industry leaders, corporations, and citizen groups to formulate both short-term and long-term strategies.”
Bengaluru has faced significant rainfall since last week, with precipitation levels reported between 92 mm and 157 mm, largely due to cloudbursts. This heavy rain has disrupted daily life and business activities, particularly in major tech hubs such as Electronic City, Whitefield and Manyata Tech Park.
