Bengaluru Rain Fury: Bengaluru's tech leaders appear to have had enough after the city was once again inundated by the recent rainfall. Several top executives of tech startups have resorted to social media to complain about about government's inactivity despite repeated pleas, since the region continues to get flooded after every wet period, making everyday traffic gridlock worse.
The Karnataka government was criticised by former Infosys CFO Mohandas Pai for the bad state of the roads, drainage, and traffic on Bengaluru's Outer Ring Road (ORR) just days before.
He claimed that international corporations with headquarters in the region are becoming irate due to the inadequate infrastructure. Pai stated on Monday that these businesses could think about setting up operations in towns outside the state if the government did not act to alleviate the situation.
Ankit Nagori, the founder of Curefoods, posted on X on Tuesday that he had to travel 10 kilometres in three hours.
"Would have been 4 had I not walked the last 5 km. Earlier it used to be once or twice a year and now it’s almost after every rains," he wrote.
When another X user noted that there is no possibility of anything improving because the government has shrugged responsibility, Nagori said, "It will only get worse."
Ritesh Banglani, an investor, posted a photo of himself driving through flooded streets. "I'm in a traffic jam in the middle of a frigging river. But hey, at least the signboards are in Kannada," he wrote on X. He took a dig at the state government stating that it's only focus is promoting the local language among migrant professionals even as the infrastructure of the IT hub is crumbling.

Amit Somani, managing partner at Prime Ventures, urged people to demonstrate by dressing in black. "All those who suffered Bangalore traffic and horrible roads today, let’s wear black clothing tomorrow to mark our respectful protest," he tweeted on Tuesday.
