Bengaluru News: A Bengaluru-based software engineer received a tile after from an online shopping platform after he ordered a Rs 1.87 Lakh smartphone. The software techie Premanand placed an order of Rs 1.87 lakh for a Samsung smartphone on Amazon.com on October 14.
After following due process, the techie made the full payment through his credit card and the parcel was delivered to Premanand on October 19. However, he was shocked to see the product when he opened the package after receiving it.
While unboxing the product, he recorded a video showing that the box did not contain an expensive smartphone but a tile.
"I had ordered a Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 worth Rs 1.87 lakh, but to my shock, I received a marble stone instead of the phone just a day before Diwali. This incident completely ruined the festive spirit we had been eagerly waiting to celebrate all year. I urge everyone to be extremely cautious while shopping online, especially on Amazon. This experience has been deeply disappointing," said Premanand.
He later lodged a report on the National Cybercrime Reporting Portal (NCRP) and approached the Kumaraswamy Layout Police Station to register a formal complaint.
As the investigation continues after police lodged an FIR, the online shopping platform, Amazon, has refunded the amount to Premanand.
