The wife of a technician, who died by suicide in Bengaluru, Karnataka, and her family sought Rs 3 crore on Tuesday, according to police, to resolve fake accusations they made against him.

“The deceased's brother informed that the victim's wife's mother, brother and her uncle had filed false cases against the deceased and demanded ₹3 crores for the settlement of the cases,” news agency ANI quoted a police statement.

According to the deceased's brother, who spoke to ANI, the victim's wife filed for divorce, and his entire family has been charged under several sections.

“If he had ever discussed it with me or our father - we would have helped him escape this situation. I want to request the govt of India and the President that justice must be done to my brother if the truth is on his side; otherwise, give me the proof to show that he is wrong,” he added.
