Bengaluru News: In yet another case of a domestic dispute turning violent, a 14-year-old was hospitalised after his mother physically assaulted him. The incident took place in Avalahalli, Bengaluru, on September 25, where a physical assault by a mother resulted in serious injuries, landing the son in the hospital.
According to a report by the Times of India, the 14-year-old victim was studying in his room with his brother when he heard his parents arguing. The teen was caught in the crossfire of the heated argument between his parents after he went out of his room to ask them to stop as he was getting disturbed.
Things escalated further when he spoke up, prompting his mother to allegedly shove him, which led to him falling and hurting his left hand.
According to the boy's statement to the police from Dr. Ambedkar Medical College and Hospital, where he is currently receiving treatment, his mother physically assaulted him, repeatedly striking him with slippers and scratching his chest and back. The situation escalated when she allegedly attempted to attack him with a small knife. Fortunately, his father intervened, preventing further harm, and promptly rushed him to the hospital.
The teen has alleged a previous incident of assault on September 23, when he was treated in the outpatient department of the same hospital.
Notice Issued To Accused Mother
Based on the boy's complaint, the Avalahalli police have registered a case under the Juvenile Justice Act and sections 115 and 118 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), which pertain to causing hurt and grievous hurt through dangerous means. The boy's mother has been issued a notice to appear for questioning.
