Bengaluru News: Tensions flared in the Chamarajpet area after three cows were brutally attacked, with their udders severed. The incident occurred at Vinayakanagar in Chamarajpet, where the cows, owned by a local resident named Karna, were found injured and lying in a pool of blood. The disturbing sight left local residents shaken and sparked widespread outrage.

The attack has drawn significant attention, with Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah instructing Bengaluru Police Commissioner B Dayananda to investigate the matter and take appropriate action. Speaking on the issue, CM Siddaramaiah assured that the authorities would act immediately to find those responsible.

The incident also led to strong reactions from the BJP, with the party announcing plans to observe 'Black Sankranti' if the government failed to take action. Leader of Opposition in the Karnataka Assembly, R Ashoka, condemned the attack, labelling it as a "heinous act" and accusing the perpetrators of having a "Jihadi mindset." He also mentioned the cultural and religious significance of cows and bulls, especially during the Sankranti festival, where these animals are traditionally decorated and worshipped.

Ashoka, along with other BJP leaders, visited the site to console the cows’ owner and expressed their condemnation of the attack. Other BJP leaders, including Leader of Opposition in the Legislative Council Chalavadi Narayanaswamy and former Deputy Chief Minister C N Ashwath Narayan, also condemned the act.

In response to the BJP’s criticism, CM Siddaramaiah claimed that certain groups were attempting to "politicise" the issue. A case has been filed by the police and investigations are ongoing to identify the culprits behind the attack.
