Bengaluru Traffic Police issued a traffic advisory for Monday to decongest the traffic in the several key areas of the city. The advisory from police came amid reports of a huge crowd expected to visit the Sri Banashankari Ammanavara Brahma Rathotsava Temple on Kanakapura Main Road on Monday.

The police in its advisory directed the motorists to follow the traffic diversions, mentioning that the road will be blocked in several areas, including on Kanakapura Main Road from Banashankari Temple to Sarakki Market Junction. The police stated that though the roads are blocked, commuters are given instructions to avoid any inconvenience and panic.

The advisory informed that the commuters coming from the Konanakunte side of Kanakapura Main Road towards Banashankari bus stand have an option to take a right turn near JP Nagar Metro Junction (Sarakki signal).

The commuters were further advised to follow the Rajalakshmi route through Sindhur Circle. They were further instructed to take a right turn near Sarakki Market Junction, take a left turn near Indira Gandhi Circle to RV Aster, adding that they could go the necessary routes from there onwards.

The advisory was also released for the route between Banashankari bus stand and Sarakki signal. It instructed the vehicles coming from Banashankari bus stand towards Sarakki signal to take a right turn near Banashankari bus stand. The commuters were further instructed through Yarab Nagar to KS, take a left turn at the layout junction, go to the Iliyasanagar-Sarakki signal, and then follow the routes.

Earlier on Sunday, 2024 TomTom Traffic Index stated that Bengaluru was no more the most congested city in India. Kolkata has overtaken Bengaluru to become the most congested city. The report also suggested that the "city of joy" was the world's second most congested city only behind Barranquilla. Dutch firm TomTom every year releases a list of the most congested cities by evaluating traffic conditions.
