“The E-Accident Report feature on the BTP ASTraM App reporting minor accidents faster, easier & fully digital,” it further stated. The BTP further described the initiative as citizen-first policing, adding that it will contribute to a more efficient and smarter Bengaluru.
Each traffic station in Bengaluru currently receives three to four daily requests from citizens for accident acknowledgements needed for insurance, totalling around 150 to 200 requests citywide each day, Hindustan Times reported.
With the new feature on the BTP ASTraM App, Bengaluru residents can now conveniently report minor accidents digitally.
Here’s How The Feature Works
- Report minor accidents digitally through the BTP ASTraM App
- Upload photos of the accident scene directly on the app
- Instantly receive an official acknowledgement
- Share the digital report directly with your insurance provider
This new feature streamlines accident reporting by eliminating the need for physical visits, long queues, and repeated follow-ups.

“There will not be any station visit or wait for the police to visit the spot for minor cases, thus reducing valuable time, said a police officer, adding that this will help a faster claim process and less paperwork. The time tab and Geo tag report will also improve accuracy and reduce stress for the people,” The Hindu quoted an official as saying.
