Bengaluru Weather Update: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Sunday stated that several districts of Karnataka, including Bengaluru, received massive rainfall on Saturday. The weather department stated that while the rain reduced the temperature by two to four degrees Celsius and provided relief from the heat, it led to waterlogging in several key areas, leading to traffic congestion. The IMD further stated that the city received about 40 mm of rainfall in the last 24 hours, adding that multiple Karnataka districts are expected to receive rainfall in the upcoming few days.

Rain Alert Issued For Multiple Districts

In its latest bulletin on Sunday, the weather department stated that coastal regions of Karnataka have been receiving good rainfall. It further issued a yellow alert in several districts, including Uttara Kannada, Udupi, Belagavi, Dharwad, Gadag, Haveri, and Shivamogga. The IMD stated that apart from rainfall, these areas are also likely to witness thunderstorms and gusty winds for the next few days. The weather department also stated that light to moderate rainfall is expected in Chamarajanagar, Chikkamagaluru, Mandya, Davanagere, Hassan, Kodagu, and Mysuru.
