Bengaluru Weather Update: A deep depression that is building in the Bay of Bengal is predicted to proceed north-northwest toward Tamil Nadu, skirting Sri Lanka, and strengthen into a cyclonic storm by Wednesday, November 27. The cyclone's effects are most noticeable along the coast of Tamil Nadu, but in the days ahead, Bengaluru and a number of other Karnataka districts may also see weather disruptions, such as rain and colder temperatures.
Today, the deep depression lies 310 kilometres southeast of Sri Lanka's Trincomalee. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) forecasts that it will fully intensify into a cyclonic storm. By Wednesday, the system is predicted to approach Tamil Nadu, bringing with it high-velocity winds and a lot of rain along the coast. When the cyclone moves toward Chennai and the rest of Tamil Nadu, preparations are being made for the possible harm to sea and air traffic.
In the next two days, it is anticipated that the cyclone will continue its north-northwestward trajectory, gradually clearing the storm from Sri Lanka and moving inland over the coast of Tamil Nadu. Before the storm reaches land, meteorologists expect that it will intensify, which might result in widespread severe rainfall and significant damage to the impacted areas.
Will Cyclone Fengal Impact Bengaluru?
Although the storm is unlikely to impact Bengaluru in its full force, the city will experience part of the haze, light rainfall, and clouded gloominess of the sky. Bengaluru experienced temperatures ranging from 18 to 24 degrees Celsius on Tuesday, November 26, and an average of 19 to 24 degrees Celsius on Wednesday, November 27, according to IMD.

Light rain and thundershowers are expected in several parts of the city, including Kolar, Chikkaballapura, Mandya, Mysuru, Hassan, Tumakuru, and Kodagu. The weather will be cloudy and foggy.
Experts said that despite the IMD's forecasts of little rain in coastal Karnataka and North Interior Karnataka, the cyclone's effects may bring some rain to other parts of the city. Early in the morning, more mist and fog are predicted. Residents in Tamil Nadu, Bengaluru, and the surrounding areas should keep up with the most recent weather updates as Cyclone Fengal continues to grow.
The coast of Tamil Nadu is predicted to see the full force of the storm, but Bengaluru will continue to have hazy sky, rain, and colder temperatures, resulting in a mixed bag of weather in the days ahead. Furthermore, this winter may bring even more surprises for Karnataka's weather, as La Niña adds an extra chill to the air.
