Several regions of Karnataka recieved significant rainfall and experienced a dip in temperature on Sunday amid the landfall of Cyclone Fengal. The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) on Monday issued an orange alert for Bengaluru, stating that the capital city is expected to receive rainfall for an additional three days. 

While the city recorded a rainfall of 3.8 mm on Sunday, the HAL and Kempegowda International Airport (KIA) documented 7 mm and 2.2 mm of rainfall, respectively, by the evening. CS Patil, IMD Bengaluru's director, said that the city is likely to receive light to moderate rainfall for a few more days. "The city is very likely to receive light to moderate rainfall for the next three days. Likewise, interior places in the south Karnataka are very likely to get light to moderate widespread rainfall, and the interior Karnataka in the north to experience light rainfall at isolated places," Patil stated in a statement.

The effects of Cyclone Fengal led to a significant drop in temperatures in several regions of Bengaluru. While the city experienced a decline of 5 degrees Celsius, HAL airport saw a decrease of 3.6 degrees, and KIA noted a reduction of 4 degrees from the usual temperature. While the city recorded a minimum temperature of 19.5 degrees Celsius, the temperatures at HAL and KIA are 19.2 degrees Celsius and 19.7 degrees Celsius, respectively. 

The IMD issued a yellow alert for several districts, including Dakshina Kannada, Udupi, Shivamogga, Chikkamagaluru, Hasan, Kodagu, Mysuru, and Chamarajanagar, for December 2 and 3, in a response to the continuous rainfall.

However, the authorities have not decided to shut down the schools and colleges in the city. Therefore, the schools and colleges will function as usual. The authorities have also warned the residents to limit the outings and carry an umbrella and raincoat while they are outside their home.
