Amid cyclone Fengal landfall, the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has informed that Karnataka will have diverse climatic conditions across the state. While the coastal region and some other parts of the southern districts anticipate rain today, the northern districts are expected to remain dry. Capital city Bengaluru's temperature is likely to dip, and there are chances of rain in several parts of the city.
Bengaluru experienced a significant drop in temperature and downpour since midnight, making it hard for the residents of the city to bear the combination of severe cold and rain. There was continuous rainfall in several areas, including key areas like Corporation Circle, Lalbagh, Mysore Bank Circle, Majestic, and Rajajinagar. The rain continued till the down, putting a damper on the weekend mood. The residents are advised by the weather department to remain inside and carry a raincoat or umbrella when they go outside, as light rain is expected in several parts of the city throughout the day.
IMD stated that there will be light thundershowers in the Dakshina Kannada and Udupi districts. It further stated that there is a likelihood of moderate rainfall in both of the districts over the next few days. The IMD informed that the northern districts, including Bagalkote, Belagavi, Bidar, Dharwad, Gadag, Haveri, Kalaburgi, Koppal, Raichur, Vijayapur, and Yadgiri, are expected to remain dry today.
However, a light rain is expected in parts of Dharwad and Haveri districts from December 2. A scattered pattern of light rain is expected across several districts of the state, including Dharwad, Gadag, Haveri, and Koppal, on December 3.
The weather department has advised residents to stay inside and avoid unnecessary outings in public places, including public parks and beaches. Those residing in the areas where heavy rainfall is expected are advised to stay updated on the weather conditions.
