Bengaluru Weather Update:  A week after the rains from Cyclone Fengal subsided, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) issued a yellow advisory for Bengaluru and the nearby areas on Wednesday. Another four days of rain is predicted to begin on Wednesday in Bengaluru and the surrounding districts of southern Karnataka.

IMD forecasted that a low-pressure system would form over the Bay of Bengal, resulting in widespread moderate rainfall over Karnataka. A yellow alert has been issued for several districts until December 13, including Bengaluru Urban, Bengaluru Rural, Chitradurga, Kolar, and Ramanagara. Heavy rain is expected to continue until December 14 in Dakshina Kannada and Udupi.

Speaking to The Times of India, GS Patil, an IMD scientist said, "Moisture-laden winds triggered by cyclonic circulation over the Bay of Bengal are causing rainfall across Karnataka. We expect moderate to heavy downpours, especially in the coastal and southern regions of the state.”

Districts in Kalaburagi, such as Dakshina Kannada, Davanagere, Gadag, and Gangapur have already experienced rain on Monday. Over the course of the next two days, steady showers are expected throughout coastal, southern, and portions of northern Karnataka.

The lowest temperature dropped by 4-6 degrees Celsius in a number of districts, including Belagavi, Bidar, Vijayapura, Bagalkot, Gadag, Kalaburagi, Haveri, Koppal, and Raichur. The lowest recorded temperature in Chikkamagaluru was 13.4 degrees Celsius.

In the upcoming days, temperatures in Bengaluru are predicted to be between 18 degrees Celsius and 30 degrees Celsius. Residents have been encouraged by the IMD to exercise caution during times of intense precipitation and to pay attention to local authorities' updates.

With the arrival of cyclone Fengal, temperatures in Bengaluru have dropped and there have been mild to moderate showers, providing much-needed respite from the city's often sweltering weather. While the city receives moderate rainfall, Karnataka's coastal districts are hardest hit by the storm, with heavier downpours.
