Bengaluru Weather Updates: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a yellow alert for Bengaluru, predicting light to moderate rain in the city on Friday and Saturday, a day after Bengaluru witnessed heavy rains on Thursday.
The city is set to experience partly cloudy skies and one or two spells of rain or thunderstorms in the coming week, the IMD said. The maximum temperature is expected to stay around 27°C, while the minimum will be about 20°C.
Bengaluru Weather Updates: Partly Cloudy Sky With Light Showers
According to the IMD, Bengaluru will experience partly cloudy skies with one or two spells of rain showers till September 17. However, the IMD has not issued an alert for the city.
Maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to remain steady at 27°C and 20°C, respectively, till September 17. Humidity is also expected to hover between 65% to 85% during this time period.
Will Rainfall Intensify In Bengaluru?
Light rainfall is expected to continue till Sunday, September 14, keeping the city cooler and humid. But the weather department has warned of an increase in rainfall following Monday, September 15. The city is expected to witness more widespread rainfall from Tuesday, September 16.
In the last 24 hours, Bengaluru received heavy rains, with the city witnessing 52.8 mm of rainfall. While Tamaka in neighbouring Kolar district recorded 102 mm of rain.
Consistent rainfall has also improved the city’s Air Quality Index (AQI). The AQI for the city, which was last recorded at 85, has come down to 65 (moderate) as per the officials. The AQI is expected to drop further to 51 on September 14.
