A college student in Bengaluru was brutally assaulted by a group of eight men for allegedly sending obscene messages to a girl. According to a PTI report, the attackers were reportedly influenced by the Renukaswamy murder case involving popular Kannada actor Darshan. The assailants also threatened to kill the victim in a similar manner.
Kushal was allegedly kidnapped by the friends of the girl on June 30 in Soladevanahalli. He was taken to an isolated place where the culprits stripped and beat him, hitting even his private parts, HT reported citing the police.

The miscreants also recorded the video of the incident, which is getting fervently viral across social media platforms. They could be seen mocking him by referring to the victim in the Renukaswamy murder case.
The police have registered a case based on the now-viral video and all the accused have been arrested.
“We have arrested all the eight accused on charges of robbery and kidnapping,” a police officer told PTI.
Renukaswamy Murder Case
33-year-old Renukaswamy, an autorickshaw driver, succumbed to his injuries after being attacked on the orders of Kannada actor Darshan. Darshan allegedly urged his fans to kidnap Renukaswamy for posting derogatory comments against his friend Pavithra Gowda on social media.

Renukaswamy was reportedly lured to a shed in Bengaluru, where he was killed following brutal torture. His autopsy report suggested he died due to shock and haemorrhage from multiple blunt injuries. Darshan, Pavithra, and 15 others were arrested in connection with the murder. Darshan and Pavithra Gowda were, however, granted bail in December last year.
