Bhopal Power Cut Tomorrow: Residents of Bhopal are advised to prepare for planned power outages on January 5, 2025, due to maintenance work by the local electricity department. The outages will impact various areas of the city at different times throughout the day.

Bhopal Power Cut: Affected Areas And Timings Are As Follows:

MLA Quarter, Jawahar Chowk, Priyadarshini, SBI Zonel Office, Jail Hills and nearby areas: 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM

Chaman Plaza, Chhatrasal Nagar, Indrapuri I Sector, Apsara Complex, Nirja Nagar, Industrial Area and nearby areas: 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM

These power cuts are part of routine maintenance aimed at ensuring the efficient functioning of the city’s power grid. For further information, citizens can contact the local electricity office or refer to official city updates.

In separate news, Protests erupted in Pithampur, Dhar district, Madhya Pradesh, over the disposal of 337 tonnes of toxic waste linked to the Bhopal gas tragedy. The waste was transported to Ramky Enviro for incineration, sparking opposition from residents. Police registered five cases against protesters, invoking several sections of the Bharatiya Nyay Sanhita, including charges of rioting and public obstruction.

Authorities imposed prohibitory orders under BNSS Section 163, restricting gatherings near the facility. A mob of 500-600 people marched to the site, and two individuals attempted self-immolation during the protests but were saved and hospitalised.

Chief Minister Mohan Yadav chaired a high-level meeting and assured compliance with Supreme Court and High Court directives for the waste's safe disposal. He stated the government would consult the courts before proceeding further, prioritising public safety. Despite the protests, police confirmed normalcy in Pithampur, with industrial operations resuming.
