The 18-crore Bhopal Bridge with a sharp 90-degree turn will be redesigned following criticism from the experts and locals. The L-shaped turn will be expanded by three feet, providing a more rounded approach to the turn, the authorities said.

The newly-constructed bridge is 648 metres in length and 8.5 metres in width. It has been built with the idea to ease traffic and reduce travel time in the Aishbag area. Though the overbridge will be redesigned due to design flaws. After facing criticism, the authorities will redesign the bridge by adding more width and removing the dividers.

The Railway Department has also approved the redesign and expansion of the bridge. The redesigning will begin once the railways hands over the land required for the modification of the bridge, according to the Public Works Department (PWD) cited by India Today.
