Jagran Correspondent, Bhopal: In a major update for the residents, the Bhopal traffic police have made changes to traffic arrangements in view of the Muharram processions till June 26. In its advisory, the advisory stated that traffic will remain diverted every day from 6 PM till the late-night hours. The traffic police stated that a large crowd is expected to participate in the procession, further advising the commuters to follow the guidelines.

Several Regions To Face Congestion 

The main procession routes, including Bharat Talkies, Alpana Tiraha, Nadara Bus Stand, Bhopal Talkies, Shahjahanabad, Royal Market, Kohefiza Tiraha, and Karbala, are likely to experience heavy traffic congestion after 6 PM. As per the advisory, additional police forces have been deployed in these regions to manage the congestion.

The traffic police stated that movement of all types of cargo, heavy, and commercial vehicles will be restricted on major roads in the old city. Apart from this, heavy vehicles will be prohibited from entering the city limits till June 26 from 6 PM to 6 AM the following day.

As per the advisory, vehicles heading towards Raja Bhoj Airport can travel via Bharat Mata Square, Bhadbhada Square, and Sakshi Dhaba Square and then turn right at Neelbad Square. Apart from this, the commuters can use the routes via Prabhat Square, JK Road, Ratnagiri, Ayodhya Bypass Road, Bhanpur, Karaund Square, New Jail, and Gandhinagar Square to arrive at the airport.

Advisory For Commuters Travelling To Station

The traffic police stated that the residents travelling from the new city towards the railway station have been advised to travel via Prabhat Chowraha, Parihar Chowraha, the 80-foot road and Bajariya Tiraha to avoid inconvenience. The traffic police have advised the residents to travel on the alternative routes to avoid the rush, further asking them to cooperate in maintaining law and order.

However, the authority clarified that all the roads will be open for public use during the day hours, adding that the vehicular movement will be normal from June 27.
