An online video has sparked widespread concerns about law and order after it showed a group of men brandishing weapons during an event in Bihar.

According to the circulated video, the people displayed weapons and danced on Bhojpuri songs while welcoming Janata Dal (United) MLA Anant Sigh of Mokama.

The MLA was attending an Upanayana ceremony held in Semrav village, under the Mirganj police station area. The exact date and time of the video are not yet known to the Daily Jagran team.

According to the circulated video, some young men gathered to welcome the event were seen dancing to a song and brandishing weapons. The video captures some of the young men demonstrating with weapons, sparking heated debate in the area.

The police responded to the incident and scanned the video. The investigating team will try to find out whether the weapons were acquired following a legal process or otherwise.

The police have clarified that displaying weapons in public places is a legal offence and action will be taken against the culprits. This incident once again raises serious questions about security and law and order in public events.

Meanwhile, Anant Singh also visited the Thawe Durga Temple on Sunday to offer prayers. The temple's chief priests, Sanjay Pandey and Mukesh Pandey, performed the rituals. A large number of JDU workers and local residents were present. Administrative officials were also present.

In a separate case, a video surfaced on Instagram last year purportedly showing a man brandishing what appeared to be an AK-series rifle and a grenade while allegedly making threats against India. A police officer in Bijnor had ‘closed the case’ with a startling conclusion: the rifle was a toy, the grenade a perfume bottle, and no serious offence was made out.
