The opposition is set to intensify its protest against the special intensive revision (SIR) in Bihar as the INDIA bloc parties will continue their protests inside and outside Parliament, and are also discussing the option to hold a march to the Election Commission headquarters next week, news agency PTI reported based on sources.
The issue of the electoral roll revision exercise was discussed in a meeting of the INDIA bloc on Thursday morning. According to the report, the opposition parties agreed that the poll rolls revision in Bihar is the priority for them in the ongoing Monsoon session of Parliament, and also demanded a discussion.
The opposition also said that INDIA bloc leaders are planning to hold a march to the Election Commission's office in the coming week. A senior opposition leader called the meeting the best one where all parties were on the same page.

Moreover, another opposition leader said that the MPs also discussed holding a campaign to make people aware of the issue. For this, terms like "votebandi", "vote-chori" (vote-theft), and "vote ki loot" would be used in the campaign
The INDIA bloc meeting was attended by Leader of Opposition in Rajya Sabha Mallikarjun Kharge, LoP in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi, TMC's Rajya Sabha leader Derek O'Brien, DMK leaders T R Baalu and Triuchi Siva, Samajwadi Party leader Ramgopal Yadav, NCP (SP)'s Supriya Sule, Raja Ram Singh of the CPI(ML) Liberation, CPI(M)'s John Brittas, and CPI's P Sandosh Kumar.
The development comes after TMC MP Derek O'Brien said last week that the opposition parties will discuss the option of organising a ‘gherao' of the poll authority's office.
