A 20-year-old man was stabbed to death following an argument among young migrant workers from Bihar over a Facebook post in Rajkot, Gujarat. The victim, identified as Prince Kumar Anil Bhind, was admitted to a hospital, where his condition worsened. He gave a statement to the police before succumbing to his injuries. Gujarat police have arrested one key accused, while another suspect remains at large.

Facebook Story Turned Into Clash 

Prince Kumar, 20, a native of Bihar, worked at a factory in Gujarat along with three of his cousins. Four months after the death of his grandfather, Prince uploaded a story on Facebook to remember him. An acquaintance from Bihar, Bipin Kumar Rajinder Gond, reacted to the story with a laughing emoji, sparking a dispute between the two men, and a verbal argument over the phone escalated into a physical confrontation.

Two Accused Travel From Bihar To Kill Prince 

According to an NDTV report, a First Information Report (FIR) states that on the night of September 12, around 12:30 a.m., Prince was sitting in an auto rickshaw outside the factory when he noticed Bipin approaching. As Prince tried to return to the factory, another accused, Brijesh Gond, blocked his path and threatened him. During the confrontation, Bipin stabbed Prince. Hearing his screams, colleagues rushed to help him and first took him to a nearby private hospital, after which he was shifted to Rajkot Civil Hospital.

Prince Died After Four Days Of The Crime 

Prince suffered an inch-and-a-half to two-inch deep wound on his back, police said. He was conscious at the time of his hospital admission and gave a statement to the police. The initial medical report did not classify his injury as serious, but after four days, his condition worsened, and he was moved to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU). Prince died on September 22 at 2:30 am, police said according to the NDTV report.

Police added Section 103(1), pertaining to murder under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023, to the FIR. The main accused, Bipin, was arrested on Monday night and produced in court the following day, while the second accused, Brijesh, remains at large.
