As Bihar heads into its Assembly elections, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi has landed in the middle of a political row. On Sunday, the BJP took a sharp dig at him for going on a jungle safari in Madhya Pradesh’s Pachmarhi, accusing him of ignoring the election campaign and staying disconnected from the real issues on the ground.

Taking a sharp dig at Gandhi, BJP spokesperson Shehzad Poonawalla said, “For Rahul Gandhi, LoP stands for Leader of Partying and Paryatan (tourism). While Bihar goes to polls, he goes on vacation. When they lose, they’ll blame the Election Commission and release a PowerPoint on H Files (holiday files)."

Posting a Hindi couplet, Poonawalla wrote, “Ta umr Congress yeh galti karti rahi, dhool chehre pe thi, Congress aaina saaf karti rahi".
