Eyeing the forthcoming Lok Sabha polls, the BJP on Saturday conducted a meeting of the core group of five states at party headquarters in Delhi. The meeting was headed by the saffron party chief JP Nadda, with Home Minister Amit Shah and general secretary (organisation) BL Santosh as key attendees.
A fervid deliberation was held to discuss the seats the BJP lost in the 2019 General Election. As for Uttar Pradesh, a special strategy was made for Rae Bareli and Mainpuri seats. There was also a discussion regarding the upcoming MLC elections. Key leaders, including JP Nadda, Amit Shah, BL Santosh, Yogi Adityanath, Keshav Prasad Maurya, and Brijesh Pathak were present at the meeting.

In the second phase, the meeting was held to discuss Lok Sabha seats in West Bengal. Mamata-led TMC is quite a strong force in the state, hence the saffron party discussed the strategy to win a significant number of seats here. BJP Bengal chief Sukanta Majumdar, and Suvendu Adhikari were among the key attendees from the state. Besides, the core group comprehensively discussed the ongoing unrest in Sandeshkhali.
Notably, PM Modi will hold two rallies in West Bengal. He will address the public in Arambag on March 1 and in Krishnanagar on March 2. He will also launch several development projects during his election campaign.
The third phase was held to discuss Lok Sabha seats in Telangana. Leaders, including G Kishan Reddy, DK Aruna, K Laxman, and Bandi Sanjay were present in the meeting. The BJP will contest all the 17 seats in the state alone.
The fourth phase was held to discuss Lok Sabha seats in Chhattisgarh. The BJP is planning to field over four candidates from ST this time.

The last and fifth phase of the meeting discussed Lok Sabha seats in Rajasthan. The discussion was held for more than one hour to discuss 25 Lok Sabha seats of the state. Over 7-9 candidates could be declared in the first list from Rajasthan.
