The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has officially sounded the election bugle in West Bengal. The party is officially launching its election campaign and will take out 1,300 small and medium rallies across the state on Friday.

In a press conference on Thursday, BJP leader and former state president Rahul Sinha said that first of all 13,000 rallies will be held across the state by January 15, 2026. This will be followed by public meetings at the state and central levels, both in the state and at the state level. These include at least seven more public meetings by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The first meeting is scheduled for December 20 in Ranaghat, Nadia.

National leaders, including Home Minister Amit Shah and Defense Minister Rajnath Singh, will also be present. This is the first time the BJP is launching its campaign in the state so early in the election.

Sinha said that road shows will first be held at the Shakti Kendra level. A BJP Shakti Kendra is made up of five to seven booths.

These road shows will be held at approximately 13,000 Shakti Kendras across the state. Rahul said that 1,300 of these road shows are taking place on Friday.

This means that there will be a road show in almost every constituency on Friday. These will be held between 5 pm and 7 pm. The party will begin holding public meetings in every assembly constituency from January 15.
