In a disturbing case of alleged domestic abuse, the sister of BJP MP Mukesh Rajput has accused her in-laws of trying to secretly record a video of her while she was bathing. The incident, which later escalated into a violent assault, took place at her in-laws residence in Rani Avantibai Nagar, UP officials confirmed on Sunday.
Reena Singh, sister of the Farrukhabad MP, filed a formal police complaint naming her father-in-law Laxman Singh and brothers-in-law Rajesh and Girish. She accused them of physically assaulting her and issuing death threats following the incident. A video showing the aftermath of the assault has since gone viral on social media, sparking outrage.

In her police complaint, Reena claimed that on Sunday afternoon, Laxman Singh and Girish attempted to film her through a window while she was bathing. When she confronted them about the invasive act, they allegedly responded with verbal abuse and violence.
According to her statement, things escalated further when her father-in-law brandished a licensed firearm and threatened her life, saying, "I will shoot you." She also stated he beat her with a stick during the altercation.
The complaint adds that her brother-in-law Rajesh attacked her with a knife, injuring her hand, while Girish struck her with an iron rod.
Reena further alleged a long pattern of abuse, saying, “I have two daughters, so my in-laws beat me up. They have been torturing me for a long time, and for some reason they want to get rid of me,” as quoted by India Today.
She also told police that the threats continued even after the assault, and she fears for her safety. Reena has appealed for police protection and demanded justice against her alleged abusers.
Speaking on the matter, Sahawar Police Station SHO Chaman Goswami confirmed that a case has been filed against the three accused. “The matter is being investigated, and strict action will be taken against the culprits as per the law," he said.
