Union Minister Kiren Rijiju on Wednesday countered Congress MP Rahul Gandhi’s vote theft allegations during the 2024 Haryana Assembly Election, terming it an effort to "deviate attention" ahead of the Bihar Election 2025. Rijiju further called Gandhi’s presentation "fake". Earlier in the day, the Lok Sabha LoP made a startling claim, alleging that 25 lakh votes were stolen during the state elections last year. He described it as a massive case of electoral malpractice by the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).
The allegations come as Bihar goes into polls in first phase tomorrow, November 6. The second phase of voting will be held on November 11. The results will be announced by the Election Commission of India (ECI) on November 14.
Addressing a press conference on Wednesday over Lok Sabha LoP's Haryana vote theft claim, Rijiju said, "Rahul Gandhi addressed the press to hide his failures. There will be polling in Bihar (tomorrow), however, he was sharing stories about Haryana. This shows that the Congress has nothing left in Bihar and this is why to deviate attention he is raking up Haryana issue. I would advise him that being Leader of Opposition, he should talk on serious issues and not waste time over irrelevant issues."

Rahul Gandhi Makes Big Allegations
Addressing a press conference at the AICC headquarters in Delhi, Gandhi alleged that a Brazilian model registered as a voter in Haryana voted 22 times on at least 10 different booths.

"Congress lost the election by 22,000 votes, but who is this lady? She votes 22 times in Haryana, in 10 different booths in Haryana. She has multiple names. That means this is a centralised operation. The lady is a Brazilian model. That’s a stock photograph, and she is one of 25 lakh such records in Haryana," Rahul Gandhi said.
He further said that BJP’s win was fixed through "fake votes" and "massive manipulation" of postal ballots. Gandhi questioned the ECI, claiming that he had 100 per cent proof of the manipulation.
